The BPI Global Equity Fund of Funds lets you invest in companies all over the world using Philippine pesos, by spreading your money across several professionally managed global equity funds. Here's what it holds, who it suits, and how to invest through DragonFi.
It's a fund of funds, a UITF (Unit Investment Trust Fund) that invests not in individual stocks but in several other professionally managed global equity funds. This gives you broad, diversified access to the world's stock markets in a single investment. It is managed by BPI Wealth.
What does it invest in?
Rather than picking stocks itself, the fund spreads your money across a selection of global equity funds run by leading international asset managers. Those underlying funds in turn hold hundreds of companies across developed and emerging markets worldwide. Its performance is measured against the MSCI All Country World Index, a broad global stock market benchmark. Because it invests in several funds rather than a single one, it differs from a feeder fund, which channels into just one target fund. You can see the current underlying funds on the fund's page in the DragonFi app.
Who is this fund for?
This fund may suit you if you:
- Want broad, one-step diversification across global stock markets
- Prefer to spread your money across several managers rather than one
- Are comfortable with the ups and downs of the stock market
- Are investing for the long term, ideally more than five years
What's the risk level?
This is an aggressive-risk fund, the highest of the three risk bands. As a global stock fund, its value can swing significantly, and because the underlying investments are in foreign currencies, exchange rate movements also affect your returns. Spreading across many funds and markets helps with diversification, but it remains an aggressive fund. Returns are not guaranteed.
Can I hold this in a PERA or Regular account?
This fund is available through a Regular DragonFi account. It is not one of DragonFi's PERA-eligible funds.
What are the fees?
Like all UITFs, this fund charges a 1.5% per annum trust fee, already deducted from the fund before the daily price is calculated, so you don't pay it separately. As a fund of funds, you also indirectly shoulder the expenses of the underlying funds it invests in. Fees can change over time, so for the exact current trust fee, check this fund's page in the DragonFi app.
What's the minimum investment?
You can start investing in this fund for as low as ₱1,000 on DragonFi, and you can add to it any time.
How do I invest in or add to this fund?
You can invest in or top up this fund directly in the DragonFi app in a few taps. For the full steps, the daily cut-off time, and how your buy-in price (NAVPU) is set, see the "How to invest in a fund" article by DragonFi. One thing to know: because the underlying funds are based overseas, your order may be priced with a slight delay compared with local funds.
How do I sell or redeem it?
You can redeem some or all of your investment in the app whenever you like, with no fixed lock-in period. Because this fund invests in overseas funds, proceeds usually take a little longer to arrive than they would for a local fund, typically around five to six banking days. For details, see the "How to sell or redeem a fund" article by DragonFi.
Where do I see the current NAVPU and returns?
The live price (NAVPU) and the latest returns are always shown on this fund's page in the DragonFi app. We don't list those figures here because they change every day, so the app is your most up-to-date source.
Good to know
- Diversification on diversification. By holding several funds that each hold many stocks, it spreads your money very widely across the global market.
- Currency moves matter. Because the underlying investments are in foreign currencies, exchange rates can affect your returns.
