Investing in a fund on DragonFi takes just a few taps in the app. Here's how it works, when your order goes through, and how your buy-in price is set.
Once your account is set up and funded, you can invest in any fund directly in the DragonFi app. In general, the steps are:
- Open the Funds section and choose the fund you want.
- Tap to invest, then enter the amount in pesos.
- Review the details and confirm.
Your order is then placed, and units are credited to your account once the order is processed.
What's the minimum investment?
For most funds on DragonFi, you can start with as little as ₱1,000. A few funds have a higher minimum. The exact amount is shown on each fund's page before you confirm.
When does my order go through?
Funds are traded once per day, not in real time like stocks. Each fund has a daily cut-off time. If you invest before the cut-off on a business day, your order is processed using that day's pricing. If you invest after the cut-off, or on a weekend or holiday, it's processed on the next business day.
How is my buy-in price set?
You invest a peso amount, and that amount buys units at the fund's NAVPU (the daily unit price) for the applicable day. Because the day's NAVPU is finalised after the cut-off, you won't know the exact price at the moment you place your order. This is normal for funds and is explained further in the "How is my buy or sell price determined?" article by DragonFi.
How do I add to my investment?
You can top up any fund you already hold at any time, following the same steps. There's no penalty for adding gradually, and investing regularly over time is a common, disciplined way to build up an investment.
Good to know
Make sure your account has enough available balance before you invest. Once your units are credited, you can track your investment any time on the fund's page in the app. For how to take money out later, see the "How do I sell or redeem a fund?" article by DragonFi.
